The Conservation and Research Fund (CRF) e.V. was founded in 2021 by seven nature lovers, science enthusiasts, association law experts and communication acifionados. Together they work voluntarily for the three overarching goals of the CRF: biodiversity research, nature conservation as well as education and communication work. Steven Seet

1. Chairperson of the CRF e.V.

Steven Seet worked for five years in his own full-service advertising agency before turning to science communication. At Leibniz-IZW, he heads the science communication unit and is responsible for public relations, public affairs, scientific events and fundraising. He is a member of the Leibniz-IZW science management team.

Petra Kretzschmar

3. Chairperson and treasurer of the CRF e.V.

Since 2010 Petra Kretzschmar been working as a biologist at the Leibniz-IZW to contribute significantly to wildlife research and nature conservation. Her main focus is influence of ecological and anthropogenic factors on the survival and reproductive success of African and Asian rhinos in Southeast Asia and Southern Africa. In her research, she applies a variety of methods, ranging from classical field studies, such as behavioural observations, habitat analysis and telemetry, to non-invasive hormone studies, nutritional analyses and genetic paternity determination and their static evaluation.
